The Spartans FC
In recent years, the Spartans have become one of the East of Scotland League's most
successful clubs. In season 2003-04 they reached the 4th round of the Scottish Cup against Scottish Premier League side Livingston FC.
In this current season of 2005-06 Spartans again reached the 4th round of the Scottish Cup, losing 3-0 in a replay to 1st Division side St Mirren. The first game attracted a club record attendance of 3,346 at their home ground, City Park, in Edinburgh. .
